A Failure: Cannon Pirates Multiplayer
Cannon Pirates Multiplayer is quite similar to Ninja Parkour, but to move from one platform to another, players must aim and shoot beneath their feet.
It’s a challenging game, but we thought it would be a lot of fun to play online, either with friends or with random players. However, we believe the core issue lies in the movement mechanics.
Making the movement freer, adding more maps, introducing traps, and changing the shooting system to something different could have made this game far more playable and enjoyable.
This would have eliminated the frustration players feel when they can’t figure out where their character is going when attempting to jump.
At the moment, we’re not planning a major update for Cannon Pirates Multiplayer. However, we’re considering making a small update (just a few days of work) to see if the metrics improve, which would help us decide whether or not it’s worth continuing development on this game.
To avoid wasting the effort we’ve already put into its development, we’re working on a completely new game using the same graphics. This time, it will be a level-based puzzle game, which we’ll share with you soon.
When entering the B2C gaming market, you have to be ready to face failure. A game that you and your team enjoy making might not necessarily resonate with players.
In those cases, you have to ask yourself: does it make sense to keep improving the game, or is it better to move on and create something new? For us, as of today, the better option is to develop a new game.
